Day 1

Well, here we are: Day 1 of my PhD...

Here's the obligatory "first day of school" photo, including the new haircut and dorky stance also sported by every grade one student across the country this morning. 

So far, I've not lost my lunchbox or gotten lost. I did, however, enter a seemingly endless cycle of admin chaos, completed a zillion forms, walked the entire length of campus no fewer than three times, signed my life away, had a new student card photo taken and received piles of variously useful "Welcome!" material.

So it begins!
